Admission registers, 1876-1960.

The registers contain background information compiled upon inmate admission. Volume 1 contains information on male inmates admitted from 1879 to 1884 and on female inmates admitted from 1876 to 1884. All other volumes contain entries only for male inmates. There are no entries for the years 1885 and 1887. Entries for 1886 and the years from 1888 through the early 1890s are very sporadic and incomplete.

Ersa H. Poston was appointed Regional Director of the New York State Youth Commission in 1957 and continued in that capacity when the State Division for Youth superseded the Youth Commission in 1960.
